1. Go to Japan and some strange "city" names will show up: Did you know that Shinjuku is a city ? Apparently Nihonbashi also has city status nowadays. ((But Tokyo is missing. I guess this will renew Tokyo Governor Ishihara's love for everything Frenchie ;))

2. Even funnier: Go to Oceania and...Austria will pop up ! Next, you can choose between the cities of Sydney, Melbourne and Wien/Vienna. Austria and Australia, it's all the same for Chanel. Screenshots ((this has to seen to be believed...))

3. Finally, if I want to choose cities in Switzerland, the app just quits. Maybe in revenge for this post :)

Now, I usually refrain from making fun of typos and errors ((there are plenty on this blog, English is not my native language)) or small homepages. But this is Chanel, a glitzery fashion house spending millions on image and PR with a store locator from hell.

My prize for the worst localized iPhone app no longer goes to the NY Times. Chanel just got the first prize.

Chanel, get a map ! Seriously, this is EMBARRASSING.

((You can say many things about Paris Hilton - but at least the Hilton.com hotel locator seems to work fine...))
