While this post is not about Burma ((please see my previous posts and PS * )), it unfortunately shares some similarities.
First, the film choices I don't agree with: I think PleasantVille and Wings of Desire should not be on the list. ((I haven't seen A Boy and His Dog, One Point 0 and Sleeper)). That leaves 45 movies I can recommend...

((IMHO, I, Robot and A Scanner Darkly are quite mediocre movies overall, but they fit into the topic))
To replace the 5 movies mentioned above, here are 5 alternative suggestions:
Renaissance, 12 Monkeys, Stalker, Terminator ((especially T2, the best one in the trilogy)) and Cube.
Stalker is a Russian movie from 1979 (( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079944/ )). The other four movies should be easy to get your hands on...
