BMW has announced that "Qadbak Investments Ltd" has agreed to purchase the BMW Sauber F1 team. The company will be represented in the team by a Swiss person called Lionel Fischer. This tells us very little except that whoever is buying the team does not want us to know who they are. The fact that the name of the company includes "Ltd" suggests that it is probably registered in one of the Caribbean tax havens, such as the British Virgin Islands, Bahamas or perhaps even the Channel Islands. Swiss trusts can be covered by the laws of any jurisdiction but are simply managed by a Swiss trustee.
...However, while one can speculate that Qadbak is a Qatari-dominated company, it is worth noting that the name is probably an acronym for the entire region: one can speculate that QADBAK stands for Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Kuwait.
There is no doubt, however, that as an independent automobile company, answering to its shareholders, BMW needs to be quite sure that any deal is done with the right kind of people who have the kind of money that is needed. The Middle East has big ambitions in the automotive world as has been seen in the recent Daimler/Aabar and Porsche/Qatar deals.

Das wird manchen nicht so versierten Benutzer vor viele Fragen stellen bei einer Präsentation am Beamer oder beim Versuch, das MacBook an einen externen Monitor anzuschliessen.
Gut, jetzt ist es soweit. Ich hoffe, dass damit nun endlich Ruhe einkehrt für die nächsten Jahre bezüglich Bildausgabe, also...
Computer = DisplayPort ((und eventuell dazu noch HDMI))
Unterhaltungselektronik / Home Cinema = HDMI
...oder die Wireless-Varianten davon.
PS: Ja, es ist mir bekannt, dass es Adapter (( DisplayPort <-> DVI )) gibt, nur wird der fehlen. Nicht nur in der Packung, sondern auch bei der wichtigen Präsentation oder sonst wenn man ihn gerade einmal braucht...

Frevel hin oder her. Ich benutze seit Jahren Dell-Displays mit Apple und bin glücklich (( Dell verbaut übrigens oft die gleichen Panels wie Apple und bietet zudem meist bessere Bildwerte bei Kontrast und Refresh-Raten ... ))

Ins Hatebook kann man zukünftig all die Kontaktaufnahmen gänzlich Unbekannter mit Dauergrinsen im Porträt stellen, die schon 1000 "Freunde" haben, von denen sie allerdings 997 nicht kennen. Eigentlich sind solche Leute ja alleinr :)
Finde alle vier Filme von der Insel gut bis sehr gut, diesen Zusammenhang habe ich bisher nicht gekannt...
Was haben «Bend it like Beckham», «Billy Elliot», «Death at a Funeral» und «Son of Rambow» gemeinsam? Sie alle wurden am Filmfestival Locarno mit dem Publikumspreis ausgezeichnet. Dieses Jahr erhielt «Son of Rambow» diese Ehre, ein Film voller Herz, grenzenloser Phantasie und wunderbarem britischem Humor.

Der neue "Son of Rambow" gefällt sicher auch Kinogängern, die "About a Boy" für gut befunden haben. Viele masslos überzeichnete Klischees ((etwa beim gestelzt-arroganten französischen Austauschschüler)), aber das macht den Film lustig.
